This external screen is essential if you’re filming with your smartphone!

In the package, we have a bluetooth remote control, a magnetic stand, a USB-C cable for recharging, a velvet carrying pouch, instructions for use and the screen itself.

The screen is battery-powered and 3.97 inches diagonal.

On one side, there’s the power button, a button for adjusting brightness and a switch for selecting the connection mode.

On the other side, there’s a USB-C port for recharging and an LED that lights up when recharging.

The stand attaches the screen to the back of your smartphone. It’s magnetized to hold it in place along the entire length of the screen. A very good point.

However, it’s not designed to hold the screen horizontally. This is not a problem, as it aligns with the direction of the phone.

The Bluetooth remote control is powered by a CR2032 battery.

Connecting the screen is pretty straightforward. There are two modes.
One where the screen transmits a wifi network to which you’ll need to connect.
And another mode where you can set the screen to connect to your wifi network for you to use.

In this video, we’re only going to test the first mode. This is the most interesting mode when you’re on the move.

Simply turn on the screen by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.
Once switched on, the screen will emit a wifi network to which you’ll need to connect your phone.

Next, you’ll need to select your smartphone’s screen duplication function, also known as screen mirroring, screen cast or Smart View on Samsung, for example, or Diffuser on Xiaomi.

You choose the screen as your destination and that’s it, the screen displays what’s on your phone’s screen.

The external screen is not touch-sensitive. So you’ll have to set everything from your phone for the shooting parameters, but you’ll be able to start recording using the supplied remote control.

Brightness can be adjusted in stages. There are three: low, medium and high.

You can also rotate the display 180°.

The screen allows you to use your phone’s main camera to film yourself, but it can also be used as a return for filming in a position where you can’t see your phone, such as when filming with your arm outstretched at a concert, for example,
But you can also use it in other situations, like continuing to watch a video on the screen while your phone is charging, or as a kind of baby phone to see what’s going on in a room from the next room. But there are surely other possible uses.

In any case, if you’re a videographer or influencer, this screen is sure to come in handy.
The screen is called “NewMowa Vlog Screen PH01-NMW”.
